If you're still debating whether or not you should visit Knott's Berry Farm, here's a little history. The park started as a roadside food stand in 1920 - selling berries, pies, and preserves. In 1934 it added in fried chicken, along with shops and attractions around the property to entertain visitors.

Following the deaths of Walter and Cordelia Knott in the 1990s, their children began selling parts of the business, which has actually contributed to its ongoing expansion. The Knotts actually declined an offer from the Walt Disney Company in 1997 out of fear that most of what Walter Knott had built would be eliminated.
